The Praxis Process

The secret sauce

The Praxis Process is a seven-step process to build a resilient organization culture that focuses on reducing employee friction by leveraging the People, Process, Technology framework.

Step one - create a baseline
Step 1

Create a baseline measurement

Define relevant metrics and create a baseline measurement to understand the current situation. Leverage existing data sources like SAT data, assessment data, behavioral data, as well as observations and experimentation. Keep adding measurements for each iteration to broaden your understanding.

Step 2

Set your goals

Create and revise long-term goals (3-5 years) that are aligned with business goals and strategy. Break the goals down into relevant milestones that can be achieved in one iteration of the process. Describe these using the same kind of metrics as used to create your Baseline. This step is often conducted alongside step 1.

Step 3

Find the gaps

Explore the differences in your current situation, baseline measurements, and your defined goals. The closer in time your goals are, the more details are required in your analysis. This step will help you understand where to focus your efforts to maximize the effects.

Step 4

Identify easy wins

Use your baseline, goals and gap analysis as input to choose one or more target audiences. The purpose is to identify groups of employees who require attention in order to improve security and reduce friction.  A more targeted approach will help drive better results, faster, and cause less friction across the organization.

Step five - design the right interventions
Step 5

Choose the right actions

Focusing on the selected target audience, you now explore what actions that will make the most effective approach in order to improve their security towards the defined goal. Interventions can be education, technology implementations and revising or even creating processes and procedures.

Step 6

Implement your actions

Implement each selected intervention for each of the selected target audiences. Monitor the progress closely, and guide the deployment to ensure the highest degree of success. The purpose is to create a better and more secure work environment for the involved employees.

Step 6 - implement your actions
Step seven - report your progress and learning
Step 7

Rinse and repeat

When the interventions are successfully implemented, it is time to review the results and consider what learning you and your team can draw from this iteration. A postmortem is often a great idea. Use this opportunity to report your progress to all relevant stakeholders, and to record any important lessons for future iterations of the Praxis Process.

Use The Praxis Process to reduce employee friction and improve the overall security performance.
